morph is the solo project and artistic expression of matt hall, an austin-based musician originally from southern california. 

raised in a musicial theatre family, matt started writing songs in his early teens before evolving into a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and producer. all of the sounds on matt’s records are played, engineered, produced, and mixed by matt in the studio he built out in his austin garage. 

the lines have blurred between creative pursuit and spiritual encounter. matt wholeheartedly believes the  act of creation serves as a conduit to the divine. he expresses his unwavering faith in a silent renaissance of creativity and spirituality that is crucial for the evolution of humanity.

his largely unreleased music is featured in a number of surf and independent films including two original soundtracks for chris miyashiro (whistles of wilderness, in dancing days of dawn). his music is licensed by stab magazine, juneshine, and other surf/lifestyle brands local to southern california.

after the success of two singles & music videos released in 2022 under the pen name gemini daisies, matt was compelled to release a grander audiovisual experience.

his debut ep, “this is all a dream” is a 7-song psychedelic indie rock project. it is accompanied by a 25 minute short film shot on super 8mm film by matt & his girlfriend. “this is all a dream” confronts the dissolution of lifelong certainties and embarks on a journey of self-reconstruction. sonically, the project prioritizes the essence of emotion in sound selection, conveying feelings through a diverse range of tones. it is set to be released in full on june 23, 2023.
